Beatrice M.

Beatrice grew up in Kenya, cooking and loving African food. When she moved to Canada in 2023 and started working at Eataly just a year later, she was exposed to Italian cuisine for the first time. Now she enjoys cooking pasta for her friends.

With the opening of Eataly Don Mills, Beatrice started as a QSR Sales Trainee and grew to become a QSR Sales Associate. She has since expanded her knowledge to grocery operations and rose to become a Market Sales Associate due to her positivity and reliability in always willing to lend a hand.

No matter what challenges arise, Beatrice meets them with a smile. She takes the necessary steps to train her fellow team members and has consistently offered to work extra hours to support the team during the most challenging times.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
“It’s a very good team dynamic so I really enjoy working here. If there are times I don’t understand an ingredient or word in Italian, I am able to ask my team members, and they always help me. We all have different cultural backgrounds and personalities, but we know that we have nothing without our teamwork skills.”

What advice do you have for a fellow Eatalian?
“When I’m working, I want to give it my all. I want to keep myself busy, and I do it wholeheartedly. So, my advice is to always be positive. Be ready to learn and appreciate what you’re doing so that you can start to love it.”

Who inspires you?
“When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a businesswoman and open my own big restaurant. Now, I’m inspired by the people above me. I see leaders growing globally, and it makes me want to reach that goal. One day I want to be in that position as well.”

What do you enjoy doing outside of Eataly?
“I studied cosmetology back in Kenya, so I love doing my own hair. I also enjoy going to
church, being in tune with people and learning as much as I can about the environment.”
