Originally from El Salvador, Cristabel joined the team at Eataly Boston in 2019 as a Line Cook. Motivated and hardworking, she was promoted to a Lead position and then ultimately became a Sous Chef. Cristabel has worked in various kitchens across Eataly Boston, perfecting her culinary skills and deepening her understanding of our operations.

Cristabel treats every day as an opportunity to learn new things in the kitchen and as a leader. Since starting with us, she has grown her knowledge of Italian cuisine, built her confidence in the English language, and honed her team management skills. Always looking to grow and give her personal best, Cristabel is a role model for her teammates

You have been an Eatalian for over five years. What has your journey been like?
“My journey at Eataly has been delightful, filled with discoveries of new Italian dishes and encounters with amazing individuals. This is truly is the ideal place for me and my career.”

What is your favorite memory from your time at Eataly so far?
“I cherish numerous fond memories here. A period of time that stands out in my mind is the pandemic. It was a challenging moment, but Eataly demonstrated genuine care for its employees, emphasizing our value to them.”

What is a typical day like as a Sous Chef in Central Kitchen, where you currently work?
“My typical day commences at eight in the morning. I start by ensuring my station and colleagues are well-prepared for the day ahead. I meticulously inspect each designated area, including the panini and salad bar, offering assistance wherever needed. Managing orders from various restaurants, maintaining quality standards, and keeping with schedules are among my responsibilities. Additionally, I aid in inventory management and facilitate orders from suppliers.”

What advice would you give to a fellow Eatalian?
“Give your best. In return, Eataly provides invaluable knowledge and growth opportunities. It’s where I’ve learned leadership skills and improved my English language proficiency.”

Outside of Eataly, what do you like to do?
“I like plants and taking care of them. I also enjoy going to the beach and travelling.”
