Eataly Favorite: Tiramisu’

Growing up in Cortes, Honduras, Fany observed her mother’s cooking and was inspired to explore her interest in the kitchen. Since then, she has gained experience in a wide range of culinary traditions, including Brazilian and Italian, and she continues to enjoy cooking for her daughters the most.

When Fany joined the team at Eataly Los Angeles in 2022, she found exactly what she’d been looking for in a job. Starting as a Prep Cook for Pronto, Fany quickly showed her commitment to staying organized and being open to learning. Since her promotion to Lead Prep Cook, Fany has motivated and developed her team to constantly improve and achieve even better results.

Throughout her Eataly journey, Fany has stood out as a leader, a learner, and a team player. She knows how to stay calm under pressure during busy times, and she never hesitates to meet any challenges that may arise. She is a key member of our Back of House Team, and we are happy to have her as an Eatalian.

What is a typical day as a Lead Line Cook?
“I come in every day and first check what food has been prepared and packaged or still needs to be. I also check the daily orders and make sure that food is coming out at the right time and is properly heated and prepared. Then I ensure food items are placed and displayed correctly in the store so guests can enjoy the freshest products.”

What is your favorite memory from your time at Eataly so far?
“Some days we work really hard, and at the end we come together to discuss everything that happened throughout the day. In those moments, we connect with each other and help one another decompress and destress.”

Who inspires you?
“My mother, because she didn’t have to tell me directly for me to understand the importance of working hard; she was an example of how hard work pays off, and I learned just from watching her.”

What do you enjoy doing outside of Eataly?
“I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my two daughters. I love cooking for them and being at home taking care of them.”
