Francelis V.

Francelis is from León, Nicaragua. She spent some time living in Costa Rica, where she was introduced to the food industry by watching her family cook in restaurants. She fell in love with the profession and hasn’t looked back.

In 2021, Francelis started her journey at Eataly as a Line Cook. Her dedication to maintaining a stellar quality of service has allowed her to excel and become a Lead Line Cook at TERRA. Francelis’s understanding of all the different roles in the kitchen makes her an asset to Eataly Silicon Valley.

During her time at TERRA, Francelis has worked with both hot and cold appetizer prep as well as the grill, where she has become an expert at cooking steaks. She even steps in with the pasta team when needed. A true team player, Francelis’ versatility is a testament to her work ethic and product knowledge.

What have been your favorite memory at Eataly?
“What I remember most is how I was welcomed here when I started. It felt like being part of a family. Everyone said, ‘We will teach you; we will help you succeed,’ and that attitude made me really happy to be here.”

What is your favorite part of your job?
“I work in all areas, so I have experience doing many things that I like. But I particularly love the grill; it’s a lot of fun, and I love working with my team.”

What have you learned since joining Eataly?
“I’ve learned so much since I started here. I had very little experience when I began in the kitchen, and I’ve advanced a lot, both professionally and emotionally. Being surrounded by people, you sometimes hear their problems, and you learn to listen. You learn how to be a better person.”

What do you enjoy doing outside of Eataly?
“I enjoy going out and exploring new places. When I am home, I spend all my time with my children. They inspire me and motivate me to keep learning and growing.”
