Gerardo’s dedication, reliability, and positive attitude make him an essential member of our Front of House Restaurant Team. Consistently among the first team members to arrive for his shift, he sets a strong example through his work ethic and commitment to excellence. As a Table Support team member, Gerardo has a keen understanding of service flow and anticipates the needs of the Servers, helping to create a seamless and collaborative dining experience. He is always willing to assist his teammates and plays an important role in fostering a supportive and successful team environment. His warm and welcoming demeanor reflects the genuine hospitality that is at the heart of Eataly’s culture.

What is your background?
“I was born and raised in Mexico City. After moving to the USA, I began working in an Italian restaurant, where I developed a deep appreciation for Italian cuisine. Over time, my passion for Italian food grew, and it has become one of my favorite cuisines”.

What has your Eataly journey been like?
“I joined Eataly Chicago in April 2014 as a Table Support team member at La Pizza & La Pasta. Since then, my primary responsibility has been to provide exceptional service to every guest dining in our restaurant. I enjoy working here because it gives me a sense of purpose. I stay focused and am ready for action throughout each shift. Italian cuisine is my favorite, which makes it especially rewarding to contribute to an outstanding dining experience for our guests.”

What advice do you have for a fellow Eatalian?
“We are Eatalians, and we all have the power to bring positive energy through a smile. As John Lennon said, ‘Imagine all the people living life in peace.’ I believe that there are no problems, only solutions.”

What are some fun facts about you?
“I enjoy listening to rock music and learning about the history of ancient civilizations around the world. I also enjoy taking walks in the park with my wife and having conversations with my daughter. In addition, I love spending time playing with my cat. When I was growing up, I dreamed of becoming a Formula One race car driver”.
