Hector A.

Hector grew up in New York City and moved to California as a teenager. He got his first experience in the restaurant industry as a prep cook before working alongside the military in various logistics roles.

In 2017, Hector began his Eataly journey as a Warehouse Associate at Eataly Los Angeles. He mastered the operational aspects of the department and demonstrated his leadership skills. Shortly after the Grand Opening of Eataly Silicon Valley, he joined the team there as Warehouse Manager. Hector’s positive attitude and understanding of his role within the overall operations of the store have made warehouse operations seamless.

Hector’s team describes him as organized, knowledgeable, and dependable. He is always willing to go the extra mile and is eager to learn everything he can about Eataly. From assisting with wine pouring at team events to breaking down wheels of parmigiano, Hector’s desire to experience all of Eataly has made him an invaluable contributor to our team’s success.

What has been your favorite memory since joining Eataly?
“During the pandemic, Eataly gave all of us a full-discount coupon every single week to help us during that time. We could buy anything we needed, and having the chance to purchase such high-end food was a really great gesture.”

What have you learned since joining Eataly?
“This is a place where you can really strengthen your resume. I’ve learned so much about olive oils and our products, and I can cook so many great dishes now! And by putting myself out there, I’ve really gotten familiar with so many roles in the operation.”

How do you work with your team?
“I work with three people in my team, and we all take care of different roles for the store. We have a small instruction meeting to start each day to organize and plan our tasks. Communication is key, and we work off each other all day, every day.”

What do you enjoy doing outside of Eataly?
“I’m a bookworm! I love collecting books, reading novels, and writing. I love boxing too.”
