Jake grew up outside Chicago and moved to the city for the first time in his late teens. After living around the country with his family, he began a career in professional wrestling. He worked as a warehouse associate in between shows, which gave him the opportunity to translate his experience into a career at Eataly.
In 2021, Jake started as a Warehouse Receiver at Eataly Chicago and quickly became a Warehouse Lead. Over the past years, he has shown exceptional knowledge of Eataly products and significantly reduced collateral spending for the store. Jake’s exceptional efforts in the warehouse greatly ease the workload of his teammates in all different departments.
Known for being a great organizer, Jake is an expert at keeping the warehouse orderly, clean, and properly stocked. He is described by his team as someone who is always positive and is committed to giving his best each and every day.
What is your favorite memory from your time at Eataly so far?
“My favorite memories are born out of moments when we have challenges or when we are busy. They are the times when I can get collaborative with my teammates and come up with solutions.”
What have you learned since joining Eataly?
“I’ve learned that it takes a collaborative effort to make a business like Eataly successful. It can’t just be because of our products, because we sell the best things. It can’t just be because we have the friendliest staff. It can’t just be because of anything that I’m doing, and it’s easy to get caught up in your own world sometimes. It’s a collaborative effort. It takes everyone to make this work and make this be a success.”
Outside of Eataly, what do you like to do?
“Before the pandemic, I began a career in professional wrestling. I moved up to Calgary where I trained with a former WWE champion, and then I traveled the country doing pro wrestling shows for the better part of my twenties. Post-pandemic, I started at Eataly. While working here, I’ve still been able to keep up with wrestling. I drive to Indiana each week to coach on Tuesdays now, too. When I’m not wrestling or training, I love to enjoy all the seasons in Chicago with my family and friends. I like going tubing with my friends, and they’re always happy when I bring them sandwiches and chips from Eataly.”
