Beginning his journey as a Bread Baker, he grew into the role of Lead Bread Baker through dedication, reliability, and a strong commitment to excellence. As a key member of the bread team, Jose led by example, ensuring high standards while supporting those around him. In 2026, he took on a new challenge within the Warehouse Department as an Associate. Demonstrating reliability and diligence, he was soon promoted to Warehouse Lead, a role in which he continues to make a difference and inspire his fellow Eatalians.

What is your background?
“I grew up in Leon, Nicaragua. I went on to study civil engineering in college. Joining Eataly was my first professional role after graduating! I always had an understanding of the food industry though, since my mother had a pastry store when I was young. I used to help her make pastries and bread. It was work I always enjoyed doing, which made my transition to the team here even easier.”

What has your Eataly journey been like?
“I joined Eataly in April 2024 as a Bread Baker. Since I have a background in food and love the industry, my first job pushed me to improve my skills and made it easier to grow into my role. I learned many new recipes and gained a new understanding of bread baking operations, which led to my promotion to Lead. In that role, I organized our daily bread production operations and supported my team. Now, I have transitioned to the Warehouse. This dynamic is a big part of why I love working here. I enjoy collaborating with my team as one cohesive unit.”

What advice do you have for a fellow Eatalian?
“Love what you do, and do it well. It is also important to come in with a good work ethic and a positive attitude.”

What are some fun facts about you?
“I love to read, exercise, and hike! I always wanted to have my own pastry store, like my mother. I would consider myself a very focused person who takes things seriously and always carries the idea that a positive attitude will take anyone as far as they want to go.”
