Kamyar Z.

Kamyar is from Iran and moved to Italy to study European history in 2005. He discovered his passion for quality food while in school, where he learned about how different ingredients made their ways across Europe to influence Italian cuisine.

After moving to Canada in 2023, Kamyar joined the Eataly Sherway Gardens Team as a Warehouse Lead. He oversees the entire warehouse and ensures that the right products get to the right place in a timely manner. Kamyar handles all of the collateral orders for the store, ensuring items don’t run low but are always properly ordered and organized.

Kamyar exudes nothing but positivity and is known by his team as someone who goes out of his way to make sure that everyone is accommodated and seen. He is a shining light at Eataly Sherway Gardens and a dedicated team player.

What has been your favorite memory from your time at Eataly?
“It was the opening day. There was so much to do, it was so busy, and the pressure of making sure things stayed in order was very exciting.”

What is your favorite part of your job?
“My favorite part of the job is usually when I receive Italian products that all come from different parts of Italy. It reminds me of the great times I had in Italy and the time I spent learning about each of these ingredients and how to eat them properly.”

What have you learned since joining Eataly?
“I’ve learned so much here, but most importantly about the importance of being attentive. With so much going on and so many items to handle, it is important to recognize the needs of each product. For example, some products require different storage conditions and others need different handling practices.

What do you enjoy doing outside of Eataly?
“I love going downtown with my friends, as well as reading and being in nature. Taking walks on hiking trails is another thing I love doing.”
