Why did you decide to work at Eataly?
“I never expected to be a Server at Eataly. I started working at this company because I was looking for a job. I was thinking at the beginning of my interview that I was not going to get this opportunity, because my English was zero at that time. But I remember the name Kevin – he interviewed me and gave me the Stocker position. In the beginning, I thought ‘What is the stocker position?’, because I was never in the restaurant before. But then they gave me training. The team was very nice, I learned day by day, and then I was doing amazing.”
What advice would you give to a new team member?
“Show and believe in your potential. In this company, you have a lot of opportunities and a lot of positions so that you can see exactly what you are looking for. Just guide yourself in the company, be proactive, tell the manager you want to learn, and they will give you the opportunity. Maybe you want to do pasta, you can do pasta here. Maybe you want to do Guest Relations, they will give you the opportunity, and they will train you. But it’s if you want to do it, if you push yourself. Do not be scared about any of the transitions, just take the chance.”
