Originally from El Salvador, Kevin moved to the United States 15 years ago. As a teenager, he began working in the food industry and knew it was where he wanted to build a career. In August 2021, Kevin joined the team at Eataly LA as a Server at our woodfire grill restaurant, Terra.

Since Day One, Kevin has demonstrated enthusiasm and a genuine desire to make Eataly guests happy, routinely going above and beyond to offer exceptional service and memorable experiences. Kevin understands that knowledge of the menu and understanding of processes are essential to offering the best service, and he regularly asks questions to know everything possible about the restaurant.

On the team, Kevin quickly became known for his insatiable curiosity and positivity. In July 2022, he was promoted to a Lead Server position. With a wealth of knowledge and a can-do attitude, Kevin regularly trains new Eatalians and inspires all team members to never stop learning and enjoying what they do.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
“When I was around 12 years old, I told my parents that I wanted to be a chef. When I got to the USA, the opportunities I had made me realize that I was more suited to a job in the front of the house. So I still ended up working in restaurants, just on a different side!”

What do you enjoy about working at Eataly?
“The feeling of being welcome is strong here. I have people that have supported me and that I can relate to. I feel a sense of friendship and family. We’re always there to listen to each other – whether it’s for work or personal matters. I think that’s what makes it so fun to come in to work, to have that connection with other coworkers and managers.”

What is your favorite memory from your time at Eataly so far?
“I had the opportunity to be a trainer at the Eataly Silicon Valley opening. It was definitely a lot of work, but it was so special to make that unique connection with a team that was starting from the very beginning. It was great to be able to teach others and to show them how much I care to be here and to work as hard as I do.”

Outside of Eataly, what do you like to do?
“I love to dance! I also enjoy getting dressed up, going out to eat, and exploring new foods. My favorite type of food is Thai.”
