Reliable and attentive, he excelled in the role and was soon promoted to a Sales Associate position. Taking initiative to learn as much as he could about coffee and espresso, Oscar was then promoted to his current position of Barista.

As a Barista, Oscar demonstrates true commitment to giving all guests the best experience possible at our café. Not only does he take care to make exceptional coffee but also approaches every interaction with positivity, providing memorable and friendly service. Oscar works to support his fellow Eatalians any way he can. He has even used his skills as a videographer to film a sagra event. When Oscar is around, he creates a pleasant and collaborative atmosphere that uplifts his teammates and Eataly guests alike.

In your own words, what is the role of a Barista at Eataly?
“I work at our café preparing coffees, serving guests, and supporting other stations. I normally work in the morning. I open the station at 6:15 am and get it ready for our first guest by preparing the chocolate, coffee, and cremespresso. I like to work at the espresso machine. Sometimes I start conversations with guests and learn from other cultures. At the end of the shift, I clean up to make sure my teammates on the next shift arrive at a clean station.”

What is your favorite memory of your time at Eataly so far?
“My most precious memories are of all the people I’ve worked with who have become friends.”

What is your favorite part of your job?
“My team is the best part of my job. We have been able to achieve a very good relationship of camaraderie and friendship. I love interacting with coworkers and also guests. I learn more every day.”

What have you learned while working at Eataly?
“I have learned a lot since I started my journey at Eataly. I have improved my English language skills, and this also helped me to grow and learn to become a Barista.”

What advice do you have for a fellow Eatalian team member?
“If you work with responsibility and dedication, this is a very good job where you will always be well.”

What have you been able to teach others about Italian food since working here?
“I’ve tried so many different cheeses, many pastries, and a variety of gelato. When I worked at the pastry counter, I really liked talking with guests about cakes. At the café, I enjoy talking with guests about different coffee preparations.”

Who inspires you?
“As a child I was always inspired by Andy Warhol, and I really like Milton Glaser. I always wanted to be an artist or a designer. I am now a visual designer and make professional videos and pictures.”

Outside of Eataly, what do you like to do?
“I like to paint, make videos, train, and climb. I love working as a visual designer and would like to continue to pursue this.”
