Sonia is originally from Colombia. Shortly after moving to Boston, she began at Eataly in the Salumi & Formaggi Department. In time, Sonia transferred to the kitchen, working as a Cook in the back of the house.

Challenging herself to expand her culinary knowledge and make the most of every minute in the kitchen, Sonia was promoted from Cook to Lead Cook and then to Sous Chef.  She is an inspiration for her fellow Eatalians and is the force behind the delicious dishes at Eataly Boston.

What is your team like at Eataly?
“We all work hard, and we take pride in our work, keeping our stations clean. We’re a big family. We always help each other with whatever we need.”

What have you learned while working here?
“I’ve learned English! I’ve also learned all about Italian food – pastas, dressings, ragus, and more.”

What advice do you have for a new Eataly team member?
“Always ask questions because Eataly will invest in people who want to be here. Also, always be on time!”

Outside of Eataly, what do you like to do?
“I enjoy doing nail art.”
