Emily, a New Jersey native, studied Entertainment Marketing in college. After graduating, she gained hands-on operational experience in the food industry by working in cafés, which sparked her desire to combine her education with her passion for food and beverage.
In 2024, Emily joined the Grand Opening Team at Eataly Short Hills as the Marketing and Events Coordinator. She trained with our New York teams and hit the ground running on Opening Day, applying her training and learning through experience.
Throughout Eataly Short Hills’ first year, Emily played a pivotal role in establishing the store’s presence. She launched a Scuola program, refined her ability to execute dynamic store-wide events, built strategic partnerships, and brought Eataly into the local community through events like Maplewoodstock.
In 2025, Emily was promoted to Marketing Manager. Her success stems from her strong organizational skills, creativity, operational mindset, and the dedication she brings to her role. We’re excited to see how Emily and the Short Hills store will continue to thrive and grow.
In your own words, what is the role of the Marketing Manager at Eataly Short Hills?
“My job is to make Eataly Short Hills an activated store for our guests and community – an immersive Italian experience, not just a market or a restaurant. I plan and organize our Scuola classes, producer demos, and large-scale events. I also act as a bridge between the Corporate Marketing Team and every department in our store, making sure signage is accurate, promotions are executed properly, and everyone knows their role during activations.”
What is your favorite part about your job?
“I love that my role touches every department in the store. It’s definitely not a siloed position! I get to collaborate with so many different people, learn from their expertise, and build strong relationships across the team.”
What have you learned since joining Eataly?
“I’m constantly learning from the experts in each department. I’ve gained a much deeper understanding of food and beverage operations, Italian culture, and especially the difference between authentic, regional Italian cuisine and the Italian-American food I grew up with in New Jersey.”
What is your favorite memory from your time at Eataly so far?
“Our first Festa at Eataly Short Hills. It was the biggest event I’d ever led at the time, and we were still a new store. Everyone came together to make it happen, and it was incredibly rewarding to see it all come to life. We learned a lot from that experience—what worked and what didn’t. That first Festa had about 95 attendees, and our second one nearly doubled with 195 guests!”
What advice do you have for a fellow Eatalian?
“Be open to learning! Get involved beyond your department because you never know what information will be helpful to you down the line. Also, be someone others can rely on. This is especially important as we all work so closely together.”
Outside of Eataly, what do you enjoy doing?
“I love live music and going to concerts. I also enjoy exploring new coffee shops and traveling. I had the chance to volunteer during the Paris Olympics, and I’m planning to do the same for the Milan Olympics!”
