What is your background?
“I’m from the small town of Fort Erie, Ontario. I grew up in the hospitality industry, working in my family’s restaurant. When I went away for school in Toronto, I was initially unsure what I would enjoy studying as I have a lot of interests. My father suggested that I focus on culinary, since I had an aptitude for it. I gave it a shot, studying Culinary Management at George Brown College, and really loved the smiles I was able to get from people who enjoyed my food. So I continued.”
What has your Eataly journey been like?
“I joined Eataly in November 2025 as a Lead Line Cook. A trusted friend recommended it to me, and the style of service and food reminded me of my maternal grandparents. In my role, I maintain product quality, ensure everything is rotated and cooked properly, and that allergens and service standards are followed. I also oversee family meal and support the team while continuing to learn so I can pass new skills on. It’s my self-appointed responsibility to make those around me smile at least once a day and check that my team has eaten. Here, I’ve learned a lot – I’ve picked up butchery skills, improved my Italian with the help of the team, and worked on my social confidence. I’ve also started learning more about wines and non-alcoholic spirits, little by little. My favorite part of the job is seeing families get excited about our food – it reminds me that what we do is worth every second.”
What advice do you have for a fellow Eatalian?
“Allow yourself to grow and be curious. Hospitality is an endless well of chances to succeed and advance, professionally and personally. Show common courtesy: respect and kindness are part of being human and a family, which is what this company has demonstrated to me. Lastly, everyone has bad days – talk to those around you when you recognize it happening to yourself. Especially at Eataly, you are not alone.”
What are some fun facts about you?
“I enjoy reading and doing various craft projects. I also like to experiment with old family recipes and create new ones. When I was a child, I wanted to be a veterinarian or a librarian. I love learning about the world, animals, and other people.”
